MSI G31M3 LAN DRIVER

I’m guessing that charged capacitors are allowing the restart after short power off time but are discharging and preventing activation via LAN after a period of time. Could you be more specific with what driver settings I should be checking? I’ve bought one of your adored MSI mainboards and it doesn’t do what I want it to do. I’ve re-read this thread and everything I wrote initially is still the case and the problem. The thing that I still think points to the problem is the fact that the green led on the onboard LAN NIC goes off when the computer is shut down S1 mode. Are motherboard drivers installed? Now I’m keen again to try to get WOL working on my computer.

The computer starts from ‘shut down’ S1 mode via a ‘magic packet’ if I send the ‘magic packet’ within a few minutes of shutting down, therefore I assume all addresses, port-forwarding, wol bios settings etc are correct BUT 2: It also goes off when ‘S3’ mode is selected in bios. How old is the Windows installation? Could you be more specific with what driver settings I should be checking?

Home Help Search Login Register. This would mean that power is not being supplied to LAN when computer is shut down. Incidently, in both those shut down modes the g31k3 lock’ led on the keyboard is still on so I gather the PSU is still supplying 5V to the mainboard. But, if I leave that target computer switched off for 3g1m3 hour or more I can no longer start it using the ‘magic packet’.

I might add that it would appear that many others are having the same problem i.

Check the driver settings in windows, often more options are found there. The problem remains exactly the same and the led on the RJ45 socket of onboard lan still goes off when PC is shutdown.

When I shut down the target remote computer I can restart within a few minutes using a ‘magic packet’ so I assume all router port mei and LAN settings are correct. Also check these settings: The last reply I had was from ‘Cronnin’ suggesting checking bios setting. Now I’m keen again to try to get WOL working on my computer. I’ve bought one of your adored Mzi mainboards and it doesn’t do what I want it to do. I’m leaning to the idea that the problem is a fault g313m the motherboard or on-board NIC. Does anyone have any other suggestions? What PSU have you got?
